New housing developments should not be allowed approval unless they can demonstrate how they will provide access to public transport.

That just my property developer angle

If this is real - we need to be on high alert as the bastards who run this are throwbacks to the middle ages.

They have no interest whatever in so called “Western standards?.

Cab Man thought you would like this news alert - a couple of your Neo Con companies here consolidating - I wonder if they have any benefit in building the FEMA camps?

Carlyle raises offer for ElkCorp

Building and roofing products maker ElkCorp said Monday private-equity firm Carlyle Group raised its takeover bid to $40.50 per share, from a previous offer of $38 per share.

The new offer values the company at about $877 million, plus the assumption of $173 million in debt.

Carlyle will launch a tender offer to acquire all outstanding common shares of ElkCorp on or before Thursday.

The takeover offer was first announced in December. Earlier this month, Building Materials Corp. of America offered a competing bid of $40 per share.

ElkCorp's board has approved Carlyle's bid and last week recommended shareholders reject Building Materials Corp. of America's offer, saying the proposal was "excessively conditional, lacks appropriate financing and is potentially illusory."

ElkCorp shares closed Friday at $40 on the NYSE.

When will they relise jail is not a good solution. Some people do need to be removed from society but the numbers in our jails currently demonstrates an inability of our government (along with previous gonverments) to put in place policies that encourage social responsibility and deter would-be offenders.

So is the answer more jails or "concentration camsp" ?

More of the same to keep htem down as they say. The camps would be a world where young people have to survive on a daily basis just to get a feed.

They are surrounded by adults, including uncles, aunts, cousins and other family who spend their days drinking, doing drugs, sexually abusing the kids, exploiting the ‘respect your elders’ theory and exploiting these kids.

Come to think about it is that really that different to the underclass in our great welfare state?
